Purchased a rubber bumper MGB-GT some months ago and have now decided to create a blog to record information I have on its history before I bought and 'things 'I have done since purchase.
Here are a few pictures as advertised before purchase.
Upon viewing I was pleased the body was in good order having undergone restoration some years ago. Engine was a replacement Ivor Searle unit said to have done just 10,000 miles.
Colour is Brooklands green
Interior is all black 'leather' with green piping on seats. No rips or tears. Drivers seat showing signs of sagging.
Britax sunroof fitted which opens nicely, with wind deflector. Headlining in good order.
Good black carpets all round with MG rubber mats in front.
Fitted with modern Kenwood radio with speakers in the rear seat side panels and a Mountrey steering wheel.
Bodywork looks excellent with no signs of corrosion at vulnerable front or rear seams or anywhere else of any real note.
Fitted with what looks like new Minator alloys and good tyres. Spare wheel is Rostyle with good tyre.
Runs and drives as expected. Engine bay fairly clean but could do with a clean and tidy.
Rear tailgate has twin gas struts in place of the normal sprung arms. They work fine but do not seem to lift the tailgate sufficient high. Need to check what can be done.
